03 · Why Now

The Window of Opportunity
is Open — But Not for Long.

Six structural advantages that make right now the optimal moment to invest in Card Compact's growth round.

Market Consolidation Under Way

Over 60 EU fintechs were forced to surrender their licences or shut down between 2023 and 2025. We survived — and are now acquiring their customers.

🏪

SME Wave

Loyalty and co-brand cards are becoming the standard for SMEs, yet barely any provider serves the long tail beneath 10,000 customers.

🛡️

Regulatory Head Start

DORA, PSD3, and MiCA are making market entry prohibitively expensive. We are already compliant, licence-embedded, and fully operational.

🌍

Cross-Border Solved

DACH and Italy proven. Our stack is EU-ready. Scaling into five further markets is a marketing exercise — not a technology project.

👥

100K+ Trust Base

Our existing customers are cohort goldmines for cross-selling, premium tiers, lending, and savings products.

🏆

Profitability as a Moat

We do not burn capital. Every pound invested goes into growth — not plugging holes.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Answers to the questions serious investors ask before committing capital.

Card Compact was founded in 2011 and has remained strictly self-funded for over 14 years — zero external venture capital. This means we have grown organically, proven our business model through real market demand, and maintained full operational autonomy. We have survived and thrived through multiple market cycles and regulatory changes that caused many competitors to fold.

Card Compact is a card programme manager operating in the UK and Germany. We handle the full lifecycle of prepaid and debit Mastercard programmes — from technical integration and compliance to customer support and marketing. Our multinational team brings up to 25 years of industry experience across IT, compliance, marketing, and customer service.

The growth financing will be deployed across four key areas: (1) Launching three new products — kingpay (B2C prepaid/debit Mastercard with cashback & loyalty), white-label Mastercard issuing for SMEs, and Presento (online gift card marketplace); (2) Expanding into new markets; (3) Recruiting key senior staff; (4) Obtaining an Electronic Money Licence and becoming a Principal Member of Mastercard to dramatically improve margins and operational flexibility.

First, kingpay — a consumer prepaid/debit Mastercard offering cashback, loyalty points, and in-app discounted gift cards to drive retention and lifetime value. Second, white-label Mastercard issuing for SMEs — enabling businesses to launch their own branded card programmes rapidly; this is a first-mover proposition in an underserved niche. Third, Presento — an online gift card marketplace for personal and business customers offering discounted premium brand gift cards, with strong cross-selling and ecosystem effects across all three products.

Currently, Card Compact operates as a programme manager under a third-party principal licence. Becoming a Principal Member of Mastercard directly eliminates the intermediary layer, significantly improving our margins, operational flexibility, and competitiveness. It also unlocks access to a broader range of Mastercard products and programmes, positioning us as a Tier 1 player in the card management ecosystem.

Card Compact's moat is built on three pillars: (1) 14+ years of regulatory and operational know-how in a highly compliance-intensive industry; (2) Deep technical agility — our in-house tech stack allows us to move faster than legacy competitors; (3) Established relationships with Mastercard, banking partners, and regulators in two of Europe's largest markets. New entrants face years of regulatory hurdles and capital requirements that Card Compact has already cleared.

Card Compact is positioning itself for a strategic acquisition or IPO as it scales its three product lines and achieves Principal Membership status. The fintech card management space has seen significant M&A activity from banks, payment networks, and larger fintech platforms seeking established programme managers with proven compliance infrastructure and customer bases. We are open to discussing specific exit timelines and structures directly with investors.

Card Compact currently operates under existing regulatory frameworks in the UK and Germany, leveraging established banking and e-money partnerships. A key milestone in our growth roadmap is obtaining our own Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence, which will reduce dependency on third-party licence holders, lower costs, and expand the range of financial services we can offer directly to customers.
